FORGET ABOUT IT ALREADY May 29, 2001 This week's edition of RAW is WAR was very entertaining. I am greatly enjoying seeing Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho finally getting the success they rightfully deserve. I enjoyed seeing Lance Storm finally on WWF television, but I also feel like a writer on 1wrestling.com felt about it. It would've made much more sense if Storm would've interfered during a Kurt Angle match. Oh well! The fact that The Hart family appeared at ringside makes it seem like the Harts and McMahons have finally worked things out. I thought it was very classy to introduce Stu to the crowd and thought the clip of Bret Hart becoming the first King of the Ring in 1993 was very classy. But with all these classy moments, the WWF messed up a good thing. I'm talking about the "screw job" McMahon pulled on Benoit. Hey WWF writers: FORGET ABOUT IT! The angle of McMahon screwing the fan favorite in a submission hold in Canada is getting extremely getting old. What is more unsatisfying is that the "Stone Cold" Steve Austin-Chris Benoit WWF World Title match was a match of the year candidate until the screw job. What is even more unpleasing is that McMahon would do this angle with the Harts at ringside. To me, it's nothing more than a slap in the face. With such a great show, the WWF really screwed up by going through with with the screw job at the end of the night. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake again. |
