WHO IS "WILLIE THE WORKER"?

April 1, 2003

On Tuesday afternoon,
1wrestling.com published an editorial by allegedly a current WWE wrestler who is upset with his current position in the company and the direction of the company.  To read the editorial visit their website as we do not have permission to publish it here.  However, I would like to take a few moments to speak about this individual.  Now granted, this could've been a hoaxed by a fan.  It is very possible that a fan wrote the E-mail, sent it to 1wrestling.com and fooled them into thinking a WWE wrestler is so upset that he sent a letter to a website that is very negative when it comes to the federation.

I do not hide my dislike of 1wrestling.com.  I feel they are a very negative website and have even gone so far as to writing an editorial on their negativity and allowing Dave Scherer and Buck Woodward the opportunity to speak back.  However, I found out that Scherer just feels I'm a jerk and I don't know what I'm talking about.  However, I do know what I'm talking about.  Yes, 1wrestling.com does provide a lot of news.  However, whenever they publish news they like to put their opinion with it.  That's okay if it's an editorial.  But if you are reporting news, you do not add your personal feelings in with the news bit.  Hopefully they will learn that.

Back to the subject at hand.  According to the man who is going by "Willie The Worker," he has busted his butt for several years for WWE.  He says he's good enough to be away from his family and be on the road for 300 days a year but is upset that he isn't good enough to be on the WrestleMania show.  He goes on to complain about the Miller Light Girls, Albert and Nathan Jones.  "Willie" goes on to say he was backstage at the show and he feels WWE probably sold more of his merchandise than Albert's.

I have two feelings on this column and that is I kinda do feel that a fan wrote it just to make Albert, Jones and the WWE wonder who is talking behind their backs.  If indeed a wrestler did write it then if I were him I would be hoping and praying to God that Vince McMahon doesn't figure out who the individual is.  I mean, this could be a very fast investigation if WWE really wanted to try to figure this out.  Just by looking at the WWE Magazine's catalog, here are wrestlers that have merchandise that did not participate on the WrestleMania pay-per-view.

Bradshaw
Dudley Boyz
Edge
Jeff Hardy
Kane
Rikishi
Rob Van Dam
Scott Steiner
The Hurricane

Now, I haven't heard that Bradshaw or Rikishi were backstage.  And to further my investigation, whoever "Willie" is, it is probably someone who is smaller than most wrestlers.  Why?  Because he purposely talked about two of the biggest men in WWE: Nathan Jones and Albert.  He then went on and called Vince McMahon a "mark for big guys."  "Willie" also said he had worked for WWE several years.  So let's take a look at this.

Edge is at home after a neck surgery.  Bradshaw isn't a small man.  Neither are Steiner, Rikishi, Kane and the Dudley Boyz.  The Hurricane has only been with WWE since 2001.  The same goes with Rob Van Dam.  So the only other person on my list is Jeff Hardy.  Could Hardy be so jealous of his brother's success that he went out and wrote such negative comments towards the company he works for?  "Willie" mentioned that he had felt this way for a while and according to all of the Internet people throughout the years, Jeff Hardy has been displeased with his career since 2001.

If "Willie" is Jeff Hardy or no matter who the real identification of the author is, they really need to stop putting the blame on everyone else and take a look at theirselves.  Instead of going to a website that is not associated with WWE and putting out such a negative column, the guy needs to start thinking of ideas to improve his character.  Look at all the guys who have gone through so many characters over the years.  Al Snow, Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin are just a few.  All three of them have had very pathetic characters but they kept working at it until they found the character that gave them success.
