SINCE WHEN IS DEATH FUNNY? December 22, 2006 Even though I have nearly thirty years of experience here on this planet, I am always shocked when human beings act out in such cold and heartless ways. Tonight, I was shocked once again but I honestly feel, this one takes the cake. While I was on MySpace.com tonight, I was checking out the bulletins and there was one that said a blog was written about Hardcore Holly. I then found another bulletin, written by the same individual, who had stated Hardcore Holly had passed away. The person even went so far as to create a tribute image. Now this came to a shock to me as I had visited several websites, including WWE.com and ECW.com and had not found anything regarding the death of Hardcore Holly. I went to the blog and was trying to find information and when I found the information I needed, I was shocked and disgusted. After reading people's comments, including one who blamed "all of these deaths on Vince McMahon," I read where the author MADE UP THE RUMOR FOR FUN. THEY EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO SAY IT WAS A PREDICTION. How can someone be so cold and so heartless to write that someone had passed away? What would this person done if a family member of Holly's visited the blog and saw this message that supposedly their loved one was now dead? Better yet, how exactly is this funny? This industry deals with so many "pre-mature" deaths that I cannot find humor, at all, in such an act. The individual who wrote this rumor should be so ashamed of themselves but sadly I do not think they will. I will admit that I do not like nor do I respect Holly. I find him to be a very unprofessional individual and I feel he is nothing more than a bully; HOWEVER, nobody deserves to have such a cold and mean-spirited rumor created about them. This was nothing more than crap and it's times like these that make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. |
