It's history goes back to 1985 and this year's edition was the first one that featured
all three WWE brands: Raw, SmackDown and ECW. On Tuesday, August 21,
WWE Home Video will release The Great American Bash 2007 exclusively on DVD. I recently had the chance to view the DVD and found it
very good but improvements could've been made if the company wanted to make them.
During the next several paragraphs, I will give the pros and the cons
of the DVD. If you would like to purchase this DVD, just click the image

the DVD or this review, click here. PROS • After several DVDs of being edited due to the Chris Benoit Family Tragedy, this is the first feature not to be edited. On the DVD, you get all nine matches that were presented in the nearly three hour pay-per-view. • The show itself was very good. From the surprise winner of the Cruiserweight Invitational to the six other championship matches, it was a solid show. Much better than the 2006 edition that aired from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. • The finishes to all of the matches were surprises at least to this reviewer as this was the first wrestling pay-per-view where I found all of my predictions to be incorrect. CONS • There are usually only four reasons why a consumer is purchasing a DVD. The first reason is you didn't watch the pay-per-view and you wanted to see it. The second is that you did watch the pay-per-view and you liked it so you bought it. The third reason is that you are just a collector or a die-hard wrestling fan so you try to purchase every wrestling DVD that's created. The fourth reason should be that the DVD has extras on it. WWE The Great American Bash 2007 only features two extras and neither of them are new footage. WWE DVDs should have exclusive footage and if they do have old footage then it should be in its entirety and not clips or highlights. While I have only been able to think of one con, it is still a major one. With the amount of footage World Wrestling Entertainment owns, their DVDs should not lack any extras. Some suggestions for extras I have for WWE The Great American Bash 2007 are: • The entire story of Edge having to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship. The interview with Edge and Teddy Long, the battle royal which The Great Khali won the championship, the number one contender match between Kane and Batista. • Since this DVD featured the return of the Bull Rope Match, I would've placed a Dusty Rhodes Bull Rope Match from the old days and then I would place the Bull Rope Match between WWE Hall of Famer, Eddie Guerrero and JBL from 2004. • Post-Match interviews with the winners and losers would have been interesting. This wouldn't have been hard to do as WWE.com featured some interviews just minutes after the pay-per-view concluded. Those are just a few extras, I thought of. I would also place the commercials for the pay-per-view on as well and maybe an Easter Egg that featured an old match or maybe an old commercial from a previous Great American Bash.
